Minimal Delay Violation-Based Cross-Layer Scheduler and Resource Allocation for DSL Networks

چکیده

The quality of service many modern communication systems depends on the delay performance underlying network. In digital subscriber line (DSL) networks, for example, crosstalk introduces competition data rate among users, which influences distribution. such a competitive environment, is largely determined by manner in resources are dynamically allocated to different users. A common approach this allocation problem through cross-layer scheduler. Such scheduler violates OSI model allowing between layers, order steer physical layer towards operating points that maximize some upper metric. paper, we present new and resource algorithm context DSL referred as minimal violation (MDV) scheduler, aims minimize number violations achieve high throughput. Rather than solving linear network utility maximization problem, most other schedulers from literature, consider reciprocal with rate, allocate rates at finer level, while still maintaining good performance. Through simulations, show MDV performs better scheduling algorithms literature respect packet loss ratio, throughput various scenarios, often operates closely an ideal

Cross-Layer Design for Dynamic Resource Allocation in Wireless Networks

In this paper, a novel analytical cross-layer design framework for dynamic resource management of wireless networks is proposed. First, dynamic bandwidth and time resource allocation policies for a single-user under fading channels that maximize capacity are derived. The analysis is then extended to multi-user environments, where the resource allocation is jointly optimized across both physical...

Resource Allocation and Cross-Layer Control in Wireless Networks

Information flow in a telecommunication network is accomplished through the interaction of mechanisms at various design layers with the end goal of supporting the information exchange needs of the applications. In wireless networks in particular, the different layers interact in a nontrivial manner in order to support information transfer. In this text we will present abstract models that captu...
